Half-time substitute Jesse Makarounas was looking to test Velaphi from distance but once again Adam Nakic was in the way.

Perth’s inability to win means the title is Central Coast Mariners who too have a postponed game to play.
Melbourne Victory coach Darren Davies is delighted how his side has changed things around since the start of the season.
“I thought we played very well. I thought we passed the ball very well and it was actually very nice to see it all come together. At the start of the season we were trying to implement a new style of play, a new philosophy and we struggled results wise but that wasn’t the problem, it was always about the development of the players and they way we wanted to play and towards the middle of the season we got a little bit closer and now all of a sudden the boys have picked up a few results playing the right way.”
Davies is obviously very pleased with how his side played in the 1-0 victory.
“At the weekend that was probably one of our best performances. We passed the ball particularly well on a nice pitch and we scored a good goal and we kept a clean sheet so it all came together at the weekend which was pleasing.”
