Adelaide United have held Brisbane Roar to a 1-1 draw at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Brisbane suffered two serious injuries with Luke Brattan and Rocky Visconte being stretchered off.

The visitors from South Australia made a great start when on 14 minutes Iain Ramsay smashed home the opener from a Bruce Djite cross.

The start of the game worsened for Brisbane when Brattan was stretchered off with a twisted knee.

Roar’s best chances of the opening 30 minutes came via the Reds ‘keeper. Mark Birighitti was in for the injured Eugene Galekovic and hit two kicks right into the charging attacker but both chances flew wide.

With ten minutes to the break Dario Vidosic should have doubled the lead against his former side but fired wide of the upright.

Soon after the break Zenon Caravella looked to grab a second for the visitors but fired his shot off target.

Thomas Broich next had a huge chance to equalise but got his effort all wrong and blazed into the stands.

But soon after Roar did have the equalised. Kofi Danning ran onto Caravella’s miss-placed pass to centre to Besart Berisha who converted.

Broich continued to find the ball but had the wrong shooting boots on and missed a sitter on 74 minutes.

With ten minutes to Broich with Birighitti beaten still couldn’t find the net as the German’s effort was cleared off the line before his follow-up effort too was cleared.

With the clock ticking down Visconte was fouled in the box but Roar were denied the penalty which also resulted in Visconte being stretchered off with an ankle injury.
