Melbourne Victory midfielder Jimmy Jeggo considers his side’s
season is not over. The 19-year-old believes that Victory still have something
to play for despite the 3-1 defeat to Newcastle and the players have a point to
prove.
“Everyone is disappointed, it wasn’t the result we wanted on
the weekend but as far as we are concerned the season’s not over yet, everyone
still have something to play for so we are back in today, working hard and
looking forward to the weekend,” Jeggo said.

On Saturday Victory travel to Sydney to take on the Sky
Blues which Jeggo and his teammates want to win to make up for the two draws
earlier in the season and to prove a point.
“We have had two draws against them this season so it’s a
chance to go out and get on top and obviously we always want to win those
games, the players have a point to prove.”
Jeggo who has played the last four games is very grateful
for the opportunity and game time and is hopeful he can build on that next
season.
“I had to wait a while but I got a chance and managed to get
a few games and I thank Jim (Magilton) for that and I really am enjoying it and
helping the boys and helping us get results our way and hopefully me and the
team can build for next season.”
But Magilton at the moment is only in charge until the end
of the season and obviously the Austrian born midfielder would like the
Northern Irishman to stay.
“He (Magilton) gave me a chance and I am very grateful for
that and he is making some positive changes around the place, training has been
good and obviously the results haven’t gone the way we had hoped but I think
you can see that he is trying to do something and given time I think it will
work.”
